THE WOMEN OF CHINA
0151_xinran_chinawomen_170702.jpg

Women in China  have been disowned in society for many years.  In China, there is a social and cultural attitude where women are inferior to the rest of the population.  They were denied rights of any form from birth to death.  The rights of women in China have been denied because of tradition, beliefs, and discrimination.

       China Women In Family

Traditionally in China women have been considered second-class citizens.  If a baby born into a family was a girl, they would either sell her to the highest bidder, or kill the baby using brutal techniques.   Women also didnt have a say in what went on around them.  If a woman was married and wanted a divorce she couldnt say anything to contradict her husband because he was in control.  If it werent for the segregated traditions in Chinese families, the women in China would have had more rights.

        Women in Workforce

Women in China have faced a large amount of discrimination throughout the years.  They were not allowed to work regular paying jobs and also were denied proper health care.  The women were also not given the proper education.  They were forced to stay home and work.  If the women of China werent discriminated against they would have had an even stake in society.

Women fight against Discrimination

From    the traditions, beliefs, and discrimination of the Chinese society women have been denied rights.  The women of China have been considered second-class citizens for centuries.  The beliefs and views of the Chinese society have brought on many problems for the women who live in it.  The women of China have faced a huge amount of discrimination throughout history.  Today, efforts are being made by Chinese organizations to put a stop to the discrimination of women in their society.

  • I like they way that are strong in creating groups to support their idea on making changes within their country to make sure women are respected and are treated equally . I am particularly interested in that : Although they face many condition they still have the determination to speak out for their rights.
  • I have chosen this country due to my interest in the women's way of life.
  • I have many of friends that are chinese and they are very friendly and nice.
  •  I notice their focus on education and how they are very independent.
